Welcome to the second grade blog!

This blog is a place where we can share second grade happenings, whether it is exciting news, an update on our studies or a list of helpful website links. The blog allows us to communicate with you regularly, and it allows you to respond to what you read and see. We welcome positive comments on any of our posts.

Happy Reading!

Can you imagine...

Being inspired by historical fiction?  That is exactly what is happening to the second graders as they listen to a read aloud (Spy in the Sky), read at home and in book groups.  In animated conversations the students are sharing their impressions of the challenges faced by the characters in their book, as well as  all they are learning about history.  Their enthusiasm is contagious, and some students are already planning what book they want to choose next week for their reading and "Talk, Write Draw" homework!  We are also sharing our excitement with the whole lower school with a display wall that chronicles our discoveries.  Be sure to stop by and see it!
