Morning Centers

Starting last week, the second grade students were introduced to Morning Centers.  Now, on most Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings, the children will come in,  grab their Center Folder, sign into their assigned Center and get busy!  For this first rotation, the Centers were Create/Construct (putting a big bird puzzle together), Math (working with number tiles), Writing (Responding to a classmate's Weekend News), Reading (enjoying some spooky stories) and Word Work (short vowel work and trying to find the mystery word).  There is always a written component to each activity which goes into their Center Folder. With every rotation, each student will get the opportunity to be at each Center and these Centers will change.  Ask your child to tell you even more about this new morning activity!
