Watercolor Exploration
Our 2nd grade students are busy working as illustrators in the art room, inspired by our upcoming visit to see the Jerry Pinkney exhibition at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. We observed Pinkney's use of watercolor in his illustrations and tried out different watercolor techniques, including "wet on wet" and "dry brush." We created several sheets of beautiful paper which the students will use in a collage to illustrate the stories that they wrote with Michelle in Library class. We can't wait to keep working on our books!
