Mallet Exploration and Technique

Second grade students practiced steady pulse while exploring the full range of pitches on xylophones and metallophones.  We played chord bordun patterns and broken bordun patterns while keeping a steady beat.  Our bars were set up in a pentatonic scale in order to allow ease of playing.  We noticed different styles of playing and observed each student play independently.  Aedín stopped in for a visit to see our work and learn more about our what happens in Second Grade Music.
